Sometimes, videos of stupid people wrecking stupid cars is fun. Our destruction-obsessed inner selves even get some guilty pleasure out of watching a really good demolition derby. But when said destruction is performed on a perfectly good sports car, it’s no longer entertaining… it’s just dumb. And so it’s with a deeply saddened heart that we watched a video of a radio station in Finland, which goes by the name NRJ, drop what appears to be a first-gen Porsche Boxster about thirty meters from a crane. Supposedly, listeners voted to destroy the car rather than give it away. There’s some mild suspense building in the crowd as they count down from five, but it’s all rather anti-climactic after it actually makes contact below. We’ve dutifully placed the video after the break, but we must warn you that it’s just over a minute of your life that you’ll never get back. Consider yourselves warned.

Everyone has their own idea of heaven on earth: the first snowfall, a cold beer on a hot day, a pristine azure beach… Cruising around town on a beautiful summer day in a classic Italian roadster may just be ours.
There’s just something, what the French call a certain je ne sais quoi, an indefinable quality about a vintage Alfa - found somewhere in between the exhaust note and the chrome details - that has a unique capacity to make driver and passenger forget about everything else and just enjoy the drive. Don’t get us wrong, we’re big fans of progress. But after spending a few hours with this beautiful 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, we’re gaining a new appreciation for the phrase “they don’t build ‘em like they used to”. Follow the jump to read why.

Kelvin Burns was racing along in his Porsche, tearing up the track in Thruxton, England when the car got out of shape and performed a Triple Lindy over the fence and off the track. 0-60 Magazine has video highlights culled from the broadcast of the race, which features a shockingly intimate angle of the crash. It appears that a small bit of contact at a very wrong moment will send your 911 twirling through the air, right past a cameraman with titanium nerves, neatly landing in the perfect orientation to be hoisted up and towed away. Hit the jump to check out this gnarly ride.
